The fifth ERP HEADtoHEAD™ event took place in the UK at The Penta Hotel in Reading on 2nd – 3rd March 2016 with over 100 people in attendance. The event is organised by leading ERP experts, Lumenia Consulting, and offers delegates a unique opportunity to compare 11 products from leading ERP solutions providers, all under one roof. The last four events have taken place in Ireland, and after demand for the unique format increased, the event was successfully launched in the UK for the first time.

The event started with elevator speeches from the vendors of the 11 ERP products on display – JD Edwards Enterprise One, QAD Enterprise Applications, Sage ERP X3, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, IFS Applications, Infor Cloudsuite Industrial, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Epicor ERP Version 10, Oracle Cloud, Intact IQ and Unit4Business World. This gave attendees a quick overview of each product and helped them decide which session to attend.
Over the two days the 11 products were demonstrated using a single script, allowing for a true like-for-like comparison for finance and IT executives. Products were presented from each company, with presentations taking place in four parallel streams, 2 for manufacturing, 1 for distribution & field services and one for cloud.
Each presenting company also had a booth which allowed attendees to talk in more detail with the vendors and get answers to specific questions. The event also allowed for plenty of time to network with other organisations planning to implement or upgrade ERP.
An event highlight was the panel discussion on ‘Avoiding ERP Implementation Mistakes’. A panel of experts, all of whom have implemented ERP, talked about their experiences good and bad on implementing ERP and highlighted things they might do differently next time.
Sean Jackson, Managing Director at Lumenia, gave a thought provoking presentation on ‘Benefits Quantification – The Key to ERP Project Success’.
The event closed with the announcement of the winner of the “UK ERP HEADtoHEAD™ Best Vendor Demonstration 2016”. K3 FDS, demonstrating SageX3 was the 2016 winner with an overall delegate satisfaction rating of 89.8%.
