Lumenia and ERP HEADtoHEAD™ Event – Special Report

Special report sponsored by Lumenia Ireland: Sean Jackson of Lumenia Ireland takes some time out to answer questions about the upcoming ERP Head2Head event and all things Lumenia.

Why should a company attend the ERP Head2Head event?

This is a unique opportunity to see all of the leading ERP products in one place at one time and to compare them on a like-for-like basis. If a potential buyer of ERP tried to review nine different products it would take weeks of elapsed time and at least 4-5 days of effort. The Head to Head event allows them to do this in two days and to network with other ERP buyers at the same time.

What is the event format?

During the Head to Head event taking place on 22/23rd February in the Carlton Hotel, Dublin Airport, nine ERP products will be demonstrated over a two-day period. Each demonstration will be two hours long and will be based on an identical script (high-level, covering basic sales, purchasing, inventory and finance functions). Each product will be presented once each day, with presentations taking place in three parallel streams.

How did it go last time?

The previous event, held in 2010 was a great success with 39 attendees from 17 different companies, all looking to buy new ERP solutions.

What was the feedback from ERP providers and attendees alike?

Feedback was overwhelming positive from ERP providers and attendees. Here are some sample testimonials:

Vendors:

“A very fresh, customer focused approach to vendor selection that is both highly entertaining and engaging. We look forward to bringing our solution, Epicor 9 to next year’s ERP Head to Head.”

“As participants in the Dublin ERP Head to Head 2010, K3 were very pleased by the level of attendees and interest shown. It was a professionally organised event, providing a Win-Win for both buyers and sellers with the tight script enabling true comparison”.

Attendees:

“Great idea. Easy cost effective way to evaluate look and feel”.

“Very satisfied with the two days – gained valuable new information on ERP vendors/products”.

“Excellent presentations and script. Well worth the time”.

“Very well structured – great chance to see all vendors – excellent event, thank-you.”

“Very good idea; all vendors were well prepared and the like for like comparison was very helpful – they all can do similar but seeing how they achieved it in different ways made the systems easier to compare”.

“A great idea. The two day programme will make our selection easier”.

“Good opportunity to compare different ERP systems over a short timescale. Good event – worthwhile attending.”

Each of your consultants has on average “15 years professional experience” – please explain how that is a USP for Lumenia, and the effect it has on shaping your service delivery.

Some consulting organisations operate by using junior consultants to do the bulk of the work on assignments, guided by a more experienced manager. In this model, the junior consultants are in effect learning on the job at the client’s expense. Lumenia hire only consultants who have a minimum of 10 years of experience. Consequently our teams bring huge real-world experience to assignments and add value at all times.

Please elaborate on the project management processes and skills provided by Lumenia.

All Lumenia ERP project managers have experience of multiple ERP implementation projects. Most also have at least one formal Project Management accreditation (e.g. PRINCE II or PMP). Our approach to project management focuses hugely on ensuring that planned project benefits are delivered – as well as the ensuring that each project is delivered on-time and budget. We are so confident in our abilities in this area that we are willing to link our project management fees to successful project delivery. I believe this is a unique value proposition.

How does Lumenia remain ahead of the curve in terms of maintaining a working-industry-knowledge base? (Research, analysis et cetera).

We do more ERP projects than any other independent ERP organisation – consequently we have huge exposure across the team to new developments in industry and in ERP. We capture this and knowledge from projects in a knowledge base using MS SharePoint supplemented by regular, formal project reviews involving all members of the consulting team.

The 2012 ERP HEADtoHEAD event will take place in the Carlton Hotel, Dublin Airport on 22nd & 23rd February.
